We collect the following information when you use NeighborhoodDues:

  • Account information: Name, email address, and role within your HOA
  • Community information: HOA name, address, unit count, and dues configuration
  • Payment information: Payment status and history. Full card details are handled by Stripe and never stored on our servers.
  • Usage data: Pages visited, actions taken within the app, and device/browser information
  • Communications: Announcements, violation notices, and messages sent through the platform

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and improve the Service
  • Process dues payments and maintain financial records
  • Send transactional emails (payment confirmations, invoices, violation notices)
  • Send non-transactional emails when you or your board sends announcements (you may unsubscribe from these)
  • Detect and prevent fraud and abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:

  • Stripe — payment processing (Stripe Privacy Policy)
  • Clerk — authentication (Clerk Privacy Policy)
  • Resend — email delivery
  • Supabase / AWS — infrastructure and data storage
  • Vercel — application hosting
  • Law enforcement, when required by valid legal process

Board members of your HOA can see information about homeowners in their community. Homeowners can only see their own information.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Opt out of non-transactional emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any such email
  • Export your community's data from your dashboard

6. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, strict access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication session management and basic analytics. We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to advertisers.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email.
